About the Role
Our client is seeking a highly organized detail oriented Procurement Officer to join the team. In this role, you will be responsible for managing the procurement process from identifying needs, sourcing suppliers, and ensuring timely delivery of goods and services. You will collaborate closely with various departments to understand their requirements, maintain supplier relationships, and ensure all purchases meet company standards for quality, cost efficiency and sustainability.
Key Responsibilities
- Procurement Planning and Strategy:
Develop and implement procurement strategies aligned with organizational goals, ensuring cost effective and timely acquisition of goods. - Supplier Management:
Identify, evaluate, and maintain relationships with reliable suppliers and vendors, negotiating terms and conditions to achieve the best value. - Purchase Order Management:
Process purchase requisitions, prepare and issue purchase orders, and track order fulfillment to ensure timely delivery and compliance with specifications. - Budget Management:
Monitor and control procurement budgets, ensuring expenditures align with financial goals and reporting discrepancies or variances to management. - Contract Management:
Draft, review, and manage contracts, ensuring terms and conditions are clear, compliant, and beneficial to the organization. - Inventory Management:
Oversee stock levels, ensuring efficient inventory control and prompt replenishment to avoid shortages or excess inventory. - Compliance and Reporting:
Ensure procurement activities comply with company policies, legal requirements, and industry standards. Provide regular reports on procurement activities, supplier performance, and cost savings. - Market Research:
Continuously monitor market trends, new suppliers, and innovations to identify opportunities for cost savings and process improvements. - Risk Management:
Identify potential procurement risk (e.g; supply chain disruptions) and develop mitigation strategies. - Collaboration:
Work closely with internal teams, including finance, operations, and legal, to ensure smooth procurement processes and meet organizational needs.Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Procurement, Supply Chain Management or a related business field. .
- At least 2 -3years of relevant work experience in procurement, preferably someone who has worked in FMCG, Retail or Wholesaler
