Electrical Engineer – Entry Level

Job Summary
Our client, a reputable engineering and services company operating within electrical installations, construction support, and technical services in Kenya, is seeking to recruit a competent and detail-oriented Entry-Level Electrical Engineer.
The successful candidate will support the engineering and projects team in tender preparation, cost estimation, and quotation development while ensuring compliance with technical specifications and industry standards. The role is primarily office-based, with limited site involvement to support verification and project execution. The ideal candidate should demonstrate strong analytical skills, technical understanding, and the ability to work in a structured and deadline-driven environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in the preparation, review, and submission of electrical tenders and bid documents in line with client requirements.
- Analyze tender documents, including drawings, Bills of Quantities (BOQs), and technical specifications to ensure accuracy and compliance.
- Develop detailed electrical quotations, including material take-offs, labor costing, and pricing summaries.
- Liaise with suppliers and subcontractors to obtain quotations for electrical materials and services.
- Maintain accurate records of pricing, supplier rates, and tender documentation.
- Provide technical support to the engineering team through interpretation of electrical drawings and specifications.
- Conduct occasional site visits to verify quantities, installations, and progress of electrical works.
- Assist in ensuring all electrical works and documentation comply with applicable standards, regulations, and safety requirements.
- Prepare basic technical reports and support general project documentation as required.
Minimum Qualifications & Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
- 1–2 years’ relevant experience in electrical works, preferably in engineering, construction, or contracting environments.
- Practical experience in tendering and preparation of electrical quotations is mandatory.
- Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings, BOQs, and technical specifications.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Microsoft Excel and Word.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and time management skills.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Willingness to attend site visits as required.
Work Structure
• 80% office-based (tendering, costing, quotations, and documentation).
• 20% site-based (verification, inspections, and project support).
