Our client is a B2B food distribution company providing SMEs with reliable access to business consumables, including FMCG products. The mission of the client is to support independent restaurants, convenience retailers, and corporations by offering streamlined access to essential goods.
About the Role
As a Sales Associate, you will be responsible for acquiring new customers, closing deals, and building strong relationships with businesses in the hospitality and convenience retail industry. Your goal will be to drive revenue growth while ensuring seamless customer onboarding and satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prospect and identify potential leads within the hospitality and convenience segment.
- Utilize existing industry knowledge and relationships within the hospitality industry in Kenya to establish rapport and secure new business opportunities.
- Conduct business development activities, including field sales, cold calling, email campaigns, and networking, to generate leads and close deals.
- Meet and exceed sales targets and quotas on a consistent basis.
- Develop and maintain a deep understanding of Clients product offerings, value proposition, and competitive landscape.
- Collaborate with the internal team to ensure smooth onboarding and implementation of new clients.
- Provide accurate and timely sales reports, forecasts, and market feedback to management.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in sales and/or customer acquisition with a proven track record of success in outbound sales, preferably within the hospitality industry in Kenya.
- Existing relationships with potential leads in the hospitality industry in Kenya is a strong advantage.
- Familiarity with FMCG products is an added advantage.
- Proficiency in using CRM software and other sales tools.
- Strong written and oral communication and sales skills to interact effectively with senior executives or owners of businesses in the hospitality industry.
- Ability to efficiently manage the entire sales process independently, from lead qualification to deal closure, demonstrating strong organizational and time management skills.
- Exceptional communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
- Self-motivated, goal-oriented, and able to work independently.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic startup environment.
- Bachelor’s degree in business, marketing, or a related field is preferred.
