Job Summary

Our client is a leading phone retail and distribution company in Kenya, dedicated to providing the latest smartphones, accessories, and after-sales services. We are seeking a proactive IT Associate to support our technology infrastructure and ensure seamless IT operations.

Job Responsibilities

  • Provide technical support for hardware, software, and network issues across retail stores and offices.
  • Install, configure, and maintain IT equipment, including POS systems, computers, printers, and mobile devices.
  • Monitor and manage the company’s IT network, ensuring security and optimal performance.
  • Assist in managing and maintaining e-commerce platforms and inventory management systems.
  • Support the implementation of IT projects, including system upgrades and new technology rollouts.
  • Ensure data security, backup processes, and disaster recovery plans are effective.
  • Troubleshoot connectivity issues, system errors, and IT service interruptions.
  • Maintain and update IT documentation, including user manuals and technical procedures.
  • Train staff on IT policies, security protocols, and software usage.
  • Work with external vendors and service providers to procure and maintain IT equipment.
  • Oversee IT asset management, including inventory tracking and license renewals.
  • Ensure compliance with IT security standards and data protection regulations.
  • Stay updated with the latest mobile technology trends and recommend improvements.

Qualifications and Skills

  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field.
  • 2-3 years of experience in an IT support or technical role, preferably in the retail or e-commerce sector.
  • Strong proficiency in Windows, Mac OS, and Linux operating systems.
  • Experience with POS systems, database management, and cloud computing solutions.
  • Knowledge of networking protocols, firewalls, VPNs, and cybersecurity best practices.
  • Hands-on experience in troubleshooting software and hardware issues.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to support non-technical users.
  • Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple IT tasks simultaneously.
  • Certifications such as CompTIA A+, CCNA, ITIL, or Microsoft Certified Solutions Associate (MCSA) are a plus.
