Caretaker
Location: Nairobi
Type: Full time
Budget: KES. 30,000 – 35,000 Gross
Our client, is seeking a dependable and proactive Caretaker to join their team. This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated individual to take on a hands-on role in maintaining and improving the workspace in a supportive and collaborative environment.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Maintenance
- Perform minor repairs and report major repair needs.
- Regularly check the functionality of heating, lighting, and alarm systems.
- Ensure all doors and windows are securely locked when not in use.
2. Cleaning
- Maintain cleanliness of exterior areas, such as parking lots, walkways, and entrances.
3. Gardening
- Maintain office greenery through watering, pruning, and general landscaping tasks.
- Ensure plants are healthy and aesthetically pleasing.
4. Opening and Closing Duties
- Open the building each morning and lock it securely at the end of the day.
5. Coordination with Contractors
- Liaise with and book external contractors for major repair or specialized maintenance work.
- Oversee contractor work to ensure compliance with quality standards and safety protocols.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Proven experience in a similar role preferred.
- Basic handyman skills, including knowledge of minor repair tasks.
- Understanding of safety and security protocols.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills for liaising with contractors and supervising cleaners.
- Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
