Job Summary:
Our client is a reputable financial services provider in Kenya, offering flexible product financing solutions to meet the needs of individuals and businesses. The company is dedicated to providing reliable and affordable financial services and is now looking for a Sales Manager to help spearhead their sales operations and achieve organizational growth.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and execute effective sales strategies to achieve organizational revenue and growth targets within the microfinance sector.
- Lead and manage the sales team, providing guidance, mentorship, and coaching to ensure optimal performance and achievement of sales targets.
- Identify new business opportunities and manage the acquisition of new clients, while fostering long-term relationships with existing clients to increase retention and loyalty.
- Conduct market research to understand customer needs, market trends, and competitor activities. Use this data to inform the development of sales strategies.
- Track and monitor sales team performance, ensure that individual and team targets are met, and take corrective action when necessary.
- Maintain an in-depth understanding of the company’s financial products and services, and effectively communicate the value propositions to clients.
- Prepare detailed sales reports and forecasts for senior management, outlining progress toward sales goals, potential challenges, and recommendations for improvement.
- Manage key customer relationships and resolve any issues or concerns promptly to ensure customer satisfaction.
- Organize regular training sessions for the sales team to enhance their product knowledge, sales skills, and customer relationship management.
- Collaborate with marketing, operations, and credit departments to ensure seamless delivery of services and to meet client needs.
- Develop and execute strategies for lead generation, attend networking events, and establish partnerships with relevant industry stakeholders.
- Oversee the sales budget, ensuring that expenses are managed effectively and that resources are allocated to support sales initiatives.
- Continuously evaluate and improve the sales process to maximize efficiency and effectiveness.
- Identify potential risks to sales growth or customer retention, and take proactive steps to mitigate those risks.
- Ensure that all sales activities are in compliance with relevant regulatory frameworks and company policies.
Qualifications:
- A Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Marketing, or any related field.
- 5-7 years of experience in a sales role within a microfinance institution or financial services sector.
- Proven track record of sales success and achieving set targets.
- Strong leadership and team management skills.
- Exceptional communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- In-depth knowledge of the microfinance sector and financial products.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and CRM software.
